Take Your Leadership Abilities to the Next Level with a Ministry Coach

Being a Pastor is both one of the most rewarding and most challenging titles one can bear. The list of disparate responsibilities can feel overwhelming: You are expected to be a counselor, a public speaker, a motivational coach, a leader, a servant, a non-profit expert, a fundraiser, a family (wo)man, a manager… The pressure can be overwhelming. Sadly, many pastors don’t know who to turn to when they are feeling overwhelmed and often wait till it’s too late to ask for help.

Interim by Design Leadership Coaching will give you the tools and resources you need to rediscover your passion for your work while also helping you better manage the elements of the title that are burdensome for you. It is my honor to help spur church leaders, like yourself, toward love and good deeds by giving them the counsel and assistance they need in tough, transitional, seasons.

Interim by Design Pastoral Coaching FAQ’s

Why IBD coaching?

As a leader guiding change in the church it can be difficult to zoom out and gain a new perspective about what’s going on in you and in the life of the congregation you lead. Coaching can help take you from where you are to where you want to go.

What do we talk about in a coaching session?

You bring up issues or situations where you feel stuck or you find yourself losing hope. I serve as a sounding board and guide in discerning a way forward.

How long is a leadership coaching session?

Each session lasts 50-60 minutes. For best results, we meet 1-2 times a month.

What if I am not Presbyterian?

Most of my clients are from reformed traditions, but I enjoy serving in ecumenical settings.

What can I expect from IBD leadership coaching?

A trusted companion alongside you. A sounding board and mentor. Someone familiar with the joys and pitfalls of leading change in the church and the toll it takes on the leader. A spiritual friend.

What People are Saying:

When I was asked to come out of retirement to be an interim pastor, a role I had never had, I knew I needed a trusted and skilled guide and mentor. I found this in Shari. Her capacity to listen deeply, reflect insightfully, and challenge supportively, strengthened my ministry and blessed me personally. I cannot recommend Shari highly enough to walk with you through your time of interim ministry.

Leadership Coaching

Pastors are often expected to have all the answers. Having a coach who is outside of your congregation gives you an avenue for authentic feedback and will improve your ability to lead your church family well.
