My name is Shari Jackson Monson, I currently live in western Washington with my husband Craig, our young adult son, and adorable dog Theo. Our daughter serves in state government.
I feel a deep sense of calling to guide the church during seasons of change. I am a pastor, researcher, convener of people and teams, an amateur gardener, a seeker of new destinations, and admirer of the arts especially comedy.
Interim By Design is where I share what I am learning, wondering about, and researching. It is also a place to offer practical resources that you may adapt for your church and or learning community.
I was educated at Seattle Pacific University (BA), Drew University (MA), Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi, India (post MA), and Fuller Theological Seminary (MDiv). I recently completed my Doctorate of Ministry degree at Seattle University.
Presently, I serve as the Executive Presbyter & Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Olympia. Prior to that I served as Transitional Pastor at Lacey Presbyterian Church, John Knox Presbyterian Church, West Side Presbyterian Church, Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chehalis, and for a few months led a church that is now closed.
I recently completed nine years on the Board of Medical Teams International. My well-worn passport illustrates a commitment to communities and people experiencing change, crisis, and conflict from the Middle East to Sub-Saharan Africa. I am drawn to peacemaking and reconciliation.
Thank you for visiting my website. If there is a way that I might serve you and your ministry don’t hesitate to reach out.
